ZOHO Corporation is a software manufacturers of Software as a Service (SaaS) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems as well as an online office suite which includes over 26 online applications such word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, wikis, project management, invoicing and other business productivity applications.

ZOHO runs three divisions—WebNMS, which caters to the business requirements of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs); ManageEngine, which provides enterprise IT management; and, which offers on-line business, productivity and collaboration software systems.

Zoho Corp headquarters is in Pleasanton, California with additional satellite offices in Austin, New Jersey, London, Tokyo and Beijing. Software development is centralized in Chennai, India. ZOHO Corp is a tightly held private company employing over 1,500 employees. The software company says it is profitable without ever having accepted outside capital.

Zoho CRM History

AdventNet was created in 1996 in largest part to create an IT management product portfolio of platform products such as database search, information security and test-automation solutions.

Zoho Office Suite was launched 2005 as a word processor. Zoho designed the software to model an online application that would rival Microsoft office.

Zoho CRM was delivered in 2006—and the first release included sales force automation (SFA), marketing software and customer service software. There was also a sales order management function which supported quotes, orders and invoices.

Zoho Show 2.0 was announced in late 2007 and offered increased file sharing, mashups within web pages, usability improvements and better integration with Zoho CRM.

In 2008, Zoho released Zoho CRM Enterprise Edition. This enhanced CRM system offered role-based security permissions, improvements to product customization, more data management tools, multi-language support (11 languages), SSL support for Professional and Enterprise editions and system integration with other online apps such as Zoho Sheet.
